Location:NIWC Pacific – San Diego, CA
Pay Range: 120 - 130K (Depending on experience level)
Certification Required: CISSP (DoD 8570 IAM/IAT/IASAE Level I compliant)

Strategic Data Systems is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer III to support cybersecurity compliance, vulnerability mitigation, and system security engineering at NIWC Pacific. This role provides senior-level expertise in protecting secure network environments and ensuring systems meet DoD cybersecurity standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and maintain cybersecurity measures to strengthen network defense and resilience
  • Support Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities and cybersecurity compliance requirements
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement risk mitigation strategies
  • Ensure security controls protect digital infrastructure and sensitive information
  • Monitor systems for threats, anomalies, and potential security incidents
  • Support incident response activities and assist with remediation and reporting
  • Provide cybersecurity engineering guidance to system administrators and technical teams

Qualifications

  • CISSP certification
  • Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mathematics with computer science concentration, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of professional cybersecurity engineering experience
  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, and network defense
$120,000 - $130,000 a year
