Senior Systems & Cybersecurity Engineer

Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid – 3 days onsite) | ~20% travel | Full-time, direct hire

We’re working with a growing power generation company that’s serious about both sustainability and cybersecurity. They’re looking for a Senior Systems & Cybersecurity Engineer to help design and secure the control systems that keep their energy facilities running safely and efficiently.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on engineering work but also wants a voice in shaping long-term strategy. You’ll start by supporting two thermal plants in Phoenix and eventually help build a secure, standardized OT environment across multiple sites in North America.

What you'll be doing:

• Designing and securing OT/ICS environments (SCADA, PLCs, DCS, RTUs)
• Implementing security tools like SIEM, PAM, MFA, and endpoint protection
• Leading hardening, segmentation, and asset management efforts
• Writing standards and guiding secure implementation of plant upgrades
• Supporting incident response and cyber risk mitigation

You’re probably a fit if you:

• Have 7+ years in OT/ICS within energy, utilities, or critical infrastructure
• Are hands-on with OT protocols (MODBUS, DNP3, OPC, ICCP)
• Have experience with network architecture, Windows admin, and virtualization
• Can explain technical concepts clearly to both plant operators and executives
• Are a U.S. citizen or green card holder (required for site access)
• Bonus points if you’ve worked on renewable or thermal power plants, contributed to an OT cybersecurity roadmap, or led junior engineers or contractors.
