Job Title: Area 31 Career Center - High School Early College Cybersecurity Instructor

 

Location: Area 31 Career Center at Ben Davis High School, Indianapolis

 

Position Type: Full-Time

 

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Cybersecurity Instructor to teach dual credit courses in partnership with Vincennes University as part of our Early College program. This is a unique opportunity to help high school students gain college credit and industry-relevant skills in cybersecurity, while preparing them for future careers in a high-demand field.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruct Vincennes University dual credit cybersecurity courses to high school students.

  • Develop and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons aligned with postsecondary standards.

  • Integrate industry best practices and tools into curriculum and instruction.

  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional learning communities (PLCs).

  • Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that encourages student growth.

  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.

  • Communicate regularly with students, parents/guardians, and staff regarding student success and progress.

  • Obtain the Indiana Workplace Specialist License through the Indiana Department of Education during the first year of employment.

Minimum Qualifications (must meet one of the following):

 

1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field, plus:

  • A relevant industry-recognized certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH, etc.), or
  • A minimum of two years of documented, relevant industry experience

2. A Master’s degree in a non-related fieldplus:

  • Five or more years of relevant industry experience, and

  • recognized industry certification in cybersecurity or a related area

Licensing Requirement:
Selected candidate must obtain the Indiana Workplace Specialist License within the first year of employment (support will be provided).

Start Date: July 28, 2025 - contract start date:  summer professional development stipend


Salary: Commensurate with education and experience, per district guidelines
