The Cybersecurity Analyst shall conduct and support cybersecurity operations for the 557th Weather Wing. The role involves developing and implementing cybersecurity strategies, ensuring systems are in compliance with established security standards, and managing operational readiness assessments.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead cybersecurity initiatives to harden systems against external threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of security policies, procedures, and technologies.
  • Perform regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk analysis.
  • Test and evaluate network security tools and applications, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.
  • Collaborate with system administrators to secure IT infrastructure, ensuring alignment with Department of Defense (DoD) security guidelines.
  • Facilitate cybersecurity training sessions for staff and briefings on security policy changes.

PWS Tasks:

  • Testing and analysis of all applicable STIGs
  • Scheduling and implementation of all applicable STIGs
  • Monitoring and execution of the quarterly revalidation schedule
  • Monitoring emerging changes to the applicable STIGs outside of the quarterly schedules.
  • Meeting Support: The contractor personnel shall support the following: (a) briefing 557 WW leadership on Cyber Security updates; (b) preparing biweekly Cyber Security Update meetings; (c) meeting with stakeholders to facilitate Cyber Security collaboration and (d) obtaining input from stakeholders to present to 557 WW leadership.
  • Monitoring the cybersecurity risk and threat to the 557 WW's cyber environment;
  • Assisting with the implementation plans for the 557 WW's transition to a cloud environment.
  • Assist with IT security efforts including the tracking and administrative management of all security related meetings, correspondence, and documents.
  • Prepare and maintain a repository of artifacts consistent with the 557 WW information management construct.
